Rebekah's Family Day!
Today, three years ago, a screaming little meme was handed to me. She was mad at the world! Actually, she was mad at the women in the world because as soon as I handed her to Justin, you could hear her take a breath and start calming down. I mean, what do you expect......your foster mom whom you are very attached to takes you to a strange place and then gives you to a strange woman who in turn gives you a bath and puts new scratchy clothes on you and then they whisk you away in a van to another strange place and hand you over to a woman who doesn't even look, talk or smell like you??? I wouldn't have liked me eihter! But, she adored Justin and I can really say that he got a taste of motherhood while we were in China. She wouldn't have anything to do with my mom or me and very little to do with AJ in the beginning.....only when AJ would stand off at a distance and try to make her giggle.
Since that time, she has decided that us women are pretty good to be around most of the time. She adores her big sister and copies everything AJ does. She still wants her daddy when she's hurting and even twists his fingers in exaggeration of pain! Instead of screaming at the world now, she is either talking non-stop or laughing at the it! She has squeezed herself in to our tiny little world, accepted our love and made a place for herself within our family and stolen our hearts.
Thank you God!
